Raymond Phillips, PhD, MS, RN
Raymond Phillips, PhD, MS, RN, is a first-year RWJF Executive Nurse Fellow at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Northern California Health Care System, where he is the chief nurse for acute care and nursing research. He is a graduate of the University of California, San Francisco, School of Nursing. He has clinical and leadership experience in both the military and civilian arenas. He served as a U.S. commissioned officer in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps and the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps. His military service roles included working as director of nursing services for the U.S. Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan. He taught nursing at multiple California educational institutions, and published peer-reviewed articles on public health issues facing enlisted personnel in the U.S. Navy.
