Margaret P. Moss, PhD, JD, RN, has served on the Senate Special Committee on Aging-Minority during her 2008–2009 Health Policy Fellowship. She is Associate Professor and Chair of the Leadership, Systems, Informatics and Policy Cooperative in the School of Nursing at the University of Minnesota, as well as Director of Inclusivity and Diversity. She is an enrolled member of the Three Affiliated Tribes of North Dakota, with equal lineage in the Fort Peck Sioux Tribe.

She received a BS in biology from Washington State University, an MN from the University of Phoenix, a PhD in nursing from the University of Texas-Houston Health Sciences Center, where she was honored with the Distinguished Alumnus Award, and a JD from Hamline University School of Law. She is the only American Indian to hold both nursing and juris doctorates and one of only 13 doctoral American Indian nurses in the country.
