Jonathan B. Jaffery, MD, MS
Jonathan B. Jaffery, MD, MS, is a practicing nephrologist and an associate professor of medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. As a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy Fellow, Jaffery worked with the Senate Committee on Finance. During his fellowship, he worked on a variety of issues relating to delivery system and payment reform, and he continues to focus on this area in his new role as medical director for delivery system innovations at University of Wisconsin Health.
From 2008 to 2010, he served as the chief medical officer for the state of Wisconsin’s Medicaid program.
A 1990 graduate of the University of Michigan, Jaffery attended the Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed training in internal medicine and nephrology at the University of Vermont. While on faculty at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, he received a Master of Science degree in population health. He is board certified in nephrology and a fellow of the American College of Physicians.
