Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Physician Faculty Scholars
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Physician Faculty Scholars program is closed to new applications. You may find the following Human Capital programs of interest:
- The RWJF Clinical Scholars program offers physicians two years of graduate-level study and research to foster their development as leaders who are transforming U.S. health and health care.
- The Harold Amos Medical Faculty Development Program provides four-year postdoctoral research awards to physicians from historically underrepresented groups who are committed to developing careers in academic medicine, improving the health of underserved populations and eliminating health disparities.
Being a Physician Faculty Scholar has allowed me to build a body of research focused on disparities in breast cancer care, specifically those related to breast reconstruction. The national leadership in plastic surgery now recognizes the magnitude of these disparities; they've launched a national campaign called "Choices" to educate the public about reconstructive options. Without a doubt, we wouldn't understand the magnitude of this problem, or be initiating an intervention at this point, without RWJF's help.
